Joy Munshower – Farm Animal sculpted in bas-relief
January 23, 2020 at 10:00 am - January 24, 2020 at 6:00 pm MST$300 – $760
This workshop is for intermediate and advanced students. Students will be sculpting bas-relief style animal beads. Students will learn to sculpt these animals from photo reference, 3D animal replicas, and instructor-drawn examples. Students will learn how to break down the shapes of these animals and how to apply those shapes to sculpting in a bas-relief or low-relief style on a base bead. An overview of various animal anatomies will be covered to help students understand, and therefore create, realistic and lifelike low-relief animal beads. Students will also learn how to use specialty dental tools, pin-punches, and a scalpel in this class to shape and add detail to their beads. Some photo and diagram reference will be provided to the students to better illustrate shape, anatomy, and composition breakdown. Students are welcome to bring additional photo reference to class. Only two animals are taught per day. If time allows, an “end of day demo” will also be provided.
Animals that you will be learning/making: Sheep, Holstein dairy cow, Pig, Hen/Rooster.
Please read the class policies prior to signing up.
